INGREDIENTS
- Fish Marinade:
- Yogurt 1 & ½ cup
- Red chili powder 1 & ½ tbs
- Turmeric powder ½ tsp
- Coriander powder 1 & ½ tbs
- Ginger garlic paste 2 tbs
- Salt 2tsp or to taste
- Lemon juice 2-3 tbs
- Fish Gravy:
- Oil ¾ cup
- Fenugreek seeds ½ tsp
- Nigella seeds 1 tsp
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Fennel seeds 1 tsp (crushed)
- Curry leaves 15-20 leaves
- Onion 3 medium (finely chopped)
- Water 1-2 cups
- Whole spice powder 1 tsp
- Fresh coriander (chopped) for garnishing
HOW TO COOK
- Fish Marinade:
- In a bowl, add yogurt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, ginger garlic paste, salt and lemon juice; mix well
- Add fish and give it a good mix
- Marinate fish for 1-2 hours
- Fish Gravy:
- In pot, heat oil and add fenugreek seeds, nigella seeds, mustard seeds, fennel seeds and curry leaves, sauté for a minute
- Add onion (finely chopped) and fry until light golden
- Now add marinated fish and cook on a high flame for 5-7 minutes or until oil appears on surface
- Add water, cover and cook on medium low flame for 10-15 minutes
- Lastly add whole spice powder and fresh coriander (chopped) and simmer for 2-3 minutes
